How does the Adaptil Calm Diffuser work?
The Adaptil Calm Diffuser releases a synthetic version of the natural pheromone mother dogs produce to comfort and reassure their puppies. This pheromone helps dogs of all ages feel calm and secure in stressful situations, such as loud noises, being left alone, or changes to their environment.
How long does the refill last?
Each 48ml refill provides up to 30 days of continuous calming support when used 24 hours a day. For ongoing effectiveness, it’s recommended to replace the refill monthly.
Where should I place the diffuser for best results?
Plug the diffuser into a wall socket in the room where your dog spends most of their time. Avoid placing it behind furniture, near curtains, or under shelves, as this can block airflow and reduce the spread of the pheromone.
Is it safe to leave the diffuser plugged in all the time?
Yes. The Adaptil Calm Diffuser is designed for continuous use, ensuring a consistent release of calming pheromones to maintain a relaxed environment for your dog.
Can I use more than one diffuser in my home?
Yes, if your home is large or has multiple floors, using more than one diffuser can help ensure the pheromones reach all areas where your dog spends time. Each diffuser covers an area of up to 70m².
Can the diffuser be used with other calming products?
Absolutely. The Adaptil Calm Diffuser can be safely used alongside Adaptil Collars, sprays, or other non-medicated calming aids for extra support during stressful times.
Is the Adaptil Diffuser suitable for puppies?
Yes. The diffuser is safe for puppies from eight weeks old and can be particularly helpful for settling them into a new home, crate training, or adjusting to a new routine.
How do I know when to replace the diffuser or refill?
Replace the refill every 30 days, even if some liquid remains, to maintain consistent pheromone levels. The diffuser unit itself should be replaced every six months for optimal performance.
Can people or other pets smell the pheromone?
No – the pheromone released by the Adaptil Diffuser is odourless and non-sedative, so it’s completely undetectable to humans and other animals.
What issues can the Adaptil Calm Diffuser help with?

When will my order be dispatched?
We aim to dispatch orders within 1 to 2 working days (Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays).
There may be times when your product is dispatched from one of our P2U partners, and this may extend to 3 working days.
Once your order is dispatched, you will receive a dispatch confirmation email from us with an order number.
In the event of an item being out of stock, we will contact you with the expected delivery time.
When will I receive my order?
Orders placed with Royal Mail Tracked 48 will aim to be delivered within 3 – 5 days of dispatch.
Orders placed with Royal Mail Tracked 24 will aim to be delivered within 1 – 2 days of dispatch.
Orders placed with Courier Delivery (Signed for) will aim to be delivered the next working day after dispatch.
Orders dispatched from one of our P2U partners will aim to be delivered within 3 days of dispatch.
Orders may be sent through Royal Mail, Amazon Shipping, Fedex, or other couriers.
How much does delivery cost?
We offer free delivery for orders over £35 to mainland UK*

It is important that you are available on the day to sign for and receive the medication. If you are not available to receive the delivery, please contact us to discuss your options. Due to the storage requirements of these products we will not be able to leave these orders in a safe place or with a neighbour.
Currently we are unable to do Tracked 24 or express deliveries on our Nutrition range (food & treats).
*Some products can only be delivered via courier e.g. orders over 2kg, fridge lines, high risk medication and controlled drugs. For these lines there is a chargeable courier fee and a signature will be required on delivery.
**For any orders that require a courier delivery to the UK Highlands an additional charge will be included during the checkout process.
***We regret that we are unable to deliver refrigerated or nutrition products to the UK Highlands, Northern Ireland and the Channel Islands.
