Full Item Description

Metacam Chewable Tablets for Dogs
Targeted Relief for Joint Pain and Inflammation

Metacam Chewable Tablets for Dogs are a veterinary non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) designed to relieve pain and inflammation. They are used in the treatment of both long-term musculoskeletal conditions such as arthritis, and short-term issues like injury or post-surgery recovery.

These tablets are flavoured for easy administration and are suitable for daily use under veterinary guidance.

What Is Metacam Used For?
Metacam is prescribed to dogs for:

Managing pain caused by arthritis and other joint problems

Treating inflammation from acute musculoskeletal injuries

Supporting comfort during recovery from surgery

Metacam helps improve your dog's mobility and quality of life when used as directed.

Active Ingredient
Meloxicam

Meloxicam reduces inflammation by targeting enzymes responsible for pain. It is well tolerated and widely used in veterinary medicine.

Tablet Strengths
Metacam chewable tablets are available in two strengths:

1 mg tablets

2.5 mg tablets

Each tablet can be halved for accurate dosing according to your dog’s weight.

For small dogs under 4 kg, Metacam Oral Suspension may be a more suitable option.

How to Administer
Metacam chewable tablets can be given with or without food

The palatable flavour means most dogs will take them willingly

Always follow your vet's dosage instructions precisely

If you’re unsure about timing or dosage, speak to your vet for guidance.

Important Safety Information
Do not use Metacam in:

Puppies under 6 weeks of age

Pregnant or lactating dogs

Dogs with gastrointestinal, liver, kidney, or heart problems

If your dog shows signs of vomiting, diarrhoea, loss of appetite, or lethargy, stop treatment and consult your vet immediately.
